We’re pleased to let you know that the latest RMM release is now available to customers worldwide. The update includes several enhancements for the new Patch Management engine, including a new auto-update mechanism for Patch Management that’s part of the new RC Agent, v10.8.3. This means that in future versions, we can deliver Patch Management updates without having to release a RC Agent each time.
In addition, we’ve added severity data to 3rd party patches, ensuring that the appropriate patches are approved based on your automated approvals settings. We have also added enhancements to our patch detection, to help avoid Windows Update out of memory exception errors and reduce scanning load.
Note that the Patch Management updates are only applicable to the new SolarWinds Patch Engine and require the latest Windows RC Agent, v10.8.3.
Patch Management enhancements:
- Improve MSP.Diagnostics
- Remove dead links from scan results
- Manage temporary / working files and delete those which are not needed any more
Patch Management bug fixes:
- Feature update installation stuck, when the local copy of its installer is corrupted
- 3rd patches data downloaded into Download folder in the root
- Check for new version of TPP on SIS produces a lot of false “errors” in logs
- Name of the ZIP file with diagnostics uses 12-hour format
- Patch error message is duplicated in Pme.Install_date.xml
- Missing update mechanism for SIS metadata files in Cache Service
