Following a successful RC period, we are excited to make Mac Agent 3.1.1 the new Generally Available (GA) Agent, which includes the SolarWinds®Backup Documents feature.
If you don’t already know, SolarWinds Backup Documents locates and backs up business documents from every workstation twice a day, automatically, and with our global cloud network, users can self-service restore documents anywhere at any time.
This feature is especially important for Mac workstations because the built-in Time Machine backup – while nice for system restores – is not designed to serve as a business-class backup. Click here for more details on how to take advantage of this exciting new offering. The new Mac GA Agent will be rolling out across the RMM territories over the course of this week.
In addition, we’re pleased to confirm a set of improvements for NetPath, Web Protection and Network Devices in this week’s release – here are all the details:
Network Devices
- On the Networks tab, the Capabilities column was not showing that printers were discovered using SNMP
- An issue where the Advanced Monitoring agent was experiencing a stability issue when managing/unmanaging a network has been resolved
- Checks now run correctly on devices that have multiple network interfaces
NetPath Improvements (v1.12)
- The NetPath agent now uses FIPS-complaint encryption algorithms, allowing the NetPath agent to be installed in FIPS-compliant environments
- Several of the text strings within the “Add New Path” wizard and the Path view are now correctly localized
Web Protection (v5.10)
- Whitelist/Blacklist handling to ensure a resource is not blocked/allowed if it is a suffix of a blacklisted/whitelisted one
- Processing of DNS responses should not use IP decision cache
- Introduced DNS collision processing for IP addresses linked to several host names, to ensure that the resource undergoes content filtering on each load
- Introduced SNI processing. The agent will now process the SNI extension during the SSL handshake to understand which hostname was requested, when DNS collision exists
- Updated HTTPS packet processing logic to support these new features and reduce the number SSL errors experienced by end customers
- Certificate errors occurring in outlook app have been resolved
- Blacklist policy window updated to proper German translation
We would also like to remind customers in the German region that we are planning an update to RMM’s load balancers – customers with restrictive firewalls may need to update their settings. Please refer to this post for full details including the new URLs and IP addresses.
