N-sight Agent v10.15.5 (Release Candidate, RC) improves Veeam backup monitoring, sets smarter default thresholds for Disk Space checks, and expands the Windows services the Agent detects automatically. The new Windows RC Agent is scheduled to roll out to all territories on Thursday 22 October 2026.
Veeam Backup Check support for newer Veeam versions
The Veeam Backup Check now supports newer versions of Veeam Backup & Replication, so backup status in N-sight stays accurate as you move to newer Veeam releases.
Disk Space thresholds that reflect drive size
When the check detection scan adds a Disk Space check automatically, the Agent now sets the threshold using both the size of the drive and how much free space it has.
Previously, the threshold was set to half of the drive’s free space percentage at the time of the scan, whatever the drive size. A 1 TB drive with 80% free got a 40% threshold, so the check started alerting while 400 GB was still free.
Now:
- Larger drives get lower thresholds. A 1 TB drive with 80% free is set to 20%. A 100 GB drive with the same free space stays at 40%.
- Drives that are filling up are unchanged. A drive with 20% free or less gets the same threshold as before, whatever its size.
- Smaller drives are unchanged. Drives of 100 GB or under keep their current thresholds.
- Reduced thresholds land on a whole multiple of 5%, like a threshold you would set by hand.
This applies to Disk Space checks added automatically by the check detection scan. Existing checks, and thresholds you have set manually or through a monitoring template, are not changed.
Updated default service check definitions
The list of Windows services that the check detection scan looks for has grown by more than 120 entries. It now covers:
- Services introduced in Windows 11 24H2 and Windows Server 2025, including the Microsoft Defender Core Service
- Hyper-V host, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS and Exchange role services
- Common security, backup, remote access and RMM products
All existing entries are kept. The additions skip always-running Windows services that would only add checks that never change state, so the new checks are ones worth watching.
Things to know:
- Newly added devices pick up the expanded list automatically, so you may see more service checks on new devices than before.
- Existing devices do not gain new checks when the Agent updates. To apply the expanded list, run the check detection scan on the device. The scan removes and replaces the existing checks on that device and deletes any notes attached to them, so plan a bulk re-scan with that in mind.
Timeframe for Windows RC v10.15.5
We plan to release the new Windows RC agent on Thursday 22nd of October to all N-sight territories. Please preview the new agent in your test environments. We will aim to promote the v10.15.5 agent to be the new Generally Available (GA) Agent soon after.
