Take Control Applet and Agent version 7.70.00 are now available. This release builds on the Console 7.70.00 update with new capabilities that give end users more control over their sessions, help technicians communicate more clearly during remote work, and make connectivity more reliable in managed network environments. It also includes security updates and several fixes and improvements. We thank our customers and partners for their continued feedback, which shapes every release of Take Control.

New Features

Agent — Authorization pop-up for Terminal Services sessions (Console 7.70.00 or later)

Devices configured with Session Pre-Authorization now require the the logged-in user’s approval when a technician views a different Terminal Services session. Remote users are prompted to allow the Take Control technician to interact with that specific session. If authorization is refused, the overall remote Take Control session remains open, but access to that Terminal Services session is blocked.

Agent — Create notes on the remote device (Console 7.70.00 or later)

Technicians can now leave a note directly on the remote screen to keep the end user informed — for example, asking them not to restart the device during an installation. Notes remain visible after the session ends, until the user closes them, and can be customized with a theme, color palette, and company logo.

Applet and Agent — Support for Windows PAC files

Both modules now detect when Windows PAC (Proxy Auto-Configuration) settings are applied to the device and prioritize those settings when establishing connectivity.

Fixes and Improvements

• Applet and Agent — Updated various components and libraries, including our FIPS 140-3 validated cryptographic module, now based on OpenSSL 3.5.8.
• Applet — Improved user elevation in specific scenarios.
• Agent — Fixed a crash in the Credentials Provider.
• Agent — Fixed an issue where Agents were updating even when updates were disallowed in the configured Agent template.
