What’s New in N-central 2026.3

N-central 2026.3 focuses on improving performance, scalability, and operational reliability, helping IT teams manage larger environments more efficiently while maintaining consistent, predictable operations.

In addition to core performance improvements, this release introduces enhancements across filtering, agent processing, integrations, asset synchronization, and platform architecture.

Highlights include:

  • Modernized Filter & Rule Device Preview Experience
  • Scalable Agent Upgrade Queue & Asynchronous Processing
  • Windows Agent Trust, Compatibility & Delivery Improvements
  • Halo PSA Integration Reliability & Workflow Improvements
  • Platform Scalability & Backend Improvements
  • Maintenance & Asset Scanning Refinements

Modernized Filter & Rule Device Preview Experience

Accurate filtering is critical across automation, reporting, and policy enforcement. However, validating filters in large environments can introduce delays and unnecessary load on the system.

In 2026.3, the filter preview and rule validation experience has been redesigned to be faster, more scalable, and more efficient.

Instead of generating full device lists server-side, results are now evaluated in memory and returned as a lightweight preview—reducing system load while improving responsiveness.

Key improvements include:

  • Faster preview of matching devices
  • Limited preview rows with full match visibility
  • Backend filtering across key device attributes

This enables faster validation of filters and rules, helping teams confidently apply changes with less delay.

Scalable Agent Upgrade Queue & Asynchronous Processing

Upgrading agents at scale can create bursts of activity that impact platform performance, particularly when large volumes of asset data are processed simultaneously.

N-central 2026.3 introduces a new asynchronous processing architecture to better handle these workloads.

After an upgrade, agent-reported data is now processed asynchronously rather than all at once—reducing load spikes and improving overall system responsiveness.

Key benefits include:

  • Reduced load during upgrade activity
  • Improved platform responsiveness
  • Better scalability for large environments

This allows teams to upgrade more devices with less risk while maintaining a stable and responsive platform.

Windows Agent Trust, Compatibility & Delivery Improvements

This release includes enhancements to Windows agent trust, compatibility, and delivery mechanisms to improve reliability across endpoints.

These updates include digitally signed agent binaries, improving trust with antivirus and firewall solutions, reducing “unknown publisher” warnings, and helping protect against tampering.

Key benefits include:

  • Improved agent reliability across environments
  • Better compatibility across systems
  • More consistent delivery and performance

Halo PSA Integration Reliability & Workflow Improvements

N-central 2026.3 hardens the native HaloPSA integration with targeted improvements across ticketing, asset export, and operational resilience.

These updates deliver more predictable ticket behavior, clearer export diagnostics, and an easier migration path from custom integrations to the native Halo PSA integration.

Key improvements include:

Asset Sync for Faster Migration New Sync Assets functionality bulk-matches existing Halo PSA assets to N-central devices using serial numbers, simplifying migration from custom integrations to the native Halo PSA integration.

Improved Export Reliability & Troubleshooting Export errors clear automatically after a successful retry, with detailed API error information surfaced directly in the export UI. Assets deleted in Halo are properly detected and recreated on re-export. Last logged-in user information can now sync to Halo asset records, and mandatory field policies are handled more reliably.

More Predictable Ticketing Workflows Ticket reopen behavior, recipient configuration (assignee, status), and “Do Not Reopen” preferences are now more consistently respected. Improved handling of multi-device notifications ensures ticket updates and return-to-normal events behave more reliably.

Operational & Integration Improvements Better reconciliation of orphaned tickets and assets, improved handling of assets from older custom PSA integrations, and continued alignment with Halo PSA best practices.

Together, these enhancements help IT teams running Halo PSA deliver more predictable, reliable service operations with fewer integration-related disruptions.

Platform Scalability & Backend Improvements

Several backend enhancements improve overall platform performance, scalability, and stability.

These updates focus on strengthening how the platform operates under load and supporting larger, more complex environments.

Key improvements include:

  • Enhancements to caching and locking mechanisms
  • Improved scalability of core platform services
  • Greater system stability and responsiveness

Maintenance & Asset Scanning Refinements

N-central 2026.3 introduces a few smaller refinements that give administrators more control over maintenance activity and asset scanning behavior.

Key improvements include:

  • One-time scheduled reboots within Maintenance Windows, making it easier to plan targeted reboot events without modifying recurring schedules
  • Configurable asset refresh intervals, allowing teams to better align scan frequency with operational needs

  • Asset scanning performance improvements that reduce unnecessary load and improve responsiveness across managed environments

Together, these refinements give administrators more flexibility and efficiency in day-to-day operations.

Additional Improvements

N-central 2026.3 also includes a range of additional updates and refinements, including:

  • Support for additional N-able login user lifecycle events
  • Full end of life for Help Desk Manager (HDM) and NetPath
  • General platform and operational enhancements
  • Bug fixes and stability improvements across the platform
