New Billing Engine in MSP Manager

We are very pleased to announce a brand new Billing Engine in MSP Manager. The updates are designed to make completing your billing much easier and more efficient, saving you time in your busy day.

Benefits of New Billing

  • Much quicker overall execution running billing batches – calculations are executed across multiple threads, spreading the work across many sub-processes.
  • Review of Service Items and Tickets can begin before all calculations are done processing.
  • Review and update tickets and Service Items on the fly without having to leave Billing, a much more efficient workflow. I.e. update Flat Fee asset counts or review the billable time on tickets and adjust on the fly.

  • Set ‘Effective Date’ on updates to Flat Fee Service Items. I.e. add new devices part way through the month, but set the ‘Effective Date’ to bill for the added devices to the beginning of the next billing period.

  • Review and Adjust In-Progress tickets, directly from Billing, allowing you to rapidly change the state of Tickets to Complete, add time-entries, or adjust description text. All saves will automatically recalculate the affected portion of the Billing session in real time.
  • A Billing Session will also automatically update if any other user makes an adjustment to Tickets or Service Items. Once updated, the Service Items & Tickets will be recalculated, and automatically show up in the Billing Session.
  • It is based on Workspaces, allowing you to build very custom Workspaces with filters for Invoices and Batches. An example might be Gold, Silver, Bronze Customer Billing, or simply 2020, 2021, 2022 Invoices. Additionally, Billing can be run in multiple workspaces simultaneously.
  • If for any reason you need to leave Billing, when you return, the state is resumed from where you left. Billing sessions stay alive for 20 minutes, even if a user is not viewing the Billing session. This allows you to go to different parts of MSPM, and come back to the Billing Session, all without losing the session. Even if its longer – say over lunch – and you come back, the Billing Session will automatically recalculate.
