We’re pleased to let you know that we have a few updates going out in N-sight RMM, including a significant Patch Management upgrade, an improvement to Monitoring Templates, along with general performance enhancements. Here’s a summary of this week’s release:
Patch Management Engine v2.8 GA
The latest Patch Management set of enhancements adds support for installing Microsoft Feature Upgrades via the so-called enablement package provided by Microsoft. By supporting enablement packages, N-sight’s patch solution can greatly reduce the file size and install times associated with Feature Upgrades. For more information, check out this recent blog post.
More control over Windows Service Checks for new device installs
In the coming days we’ll be releasing an update that makes it easier to specify exactly which Windows Service Checks you want to add to new devices when using the ‘New Device Installation Settings’ option (available from the ‘Settings’ dropdown menu under ‘Monitoring Templates’).
It means there are now two options:
- You can let the automated check detection scan determine which services are on the device at time of install and automatically add the matching Windows Service Checks.
- Or, with the new setting, you can instruct the system to add the Windows Service Checks listed in the Monitoring Template, irrespective of whether the software is installed or not. It offers additional control over the monitoring settings when onboarding new devices.

Windows Agent 10.13.1 Auto-upgrade
Please note we are auto-upgrading the latest Windows GA agent (v10.13.1) for devices that have not yet updated to this latest agent version. Agent v10.13.1 has been out as the GA agent since November, here is the release notes post for more info.
New Mac RC Agent, v3.9.0
The latest Mac agent includes improvements to the Managed Antivirus install process and to asset scanning, to help ensure the device has the latest asset data correctly set.
Reminder: Advance Notice for Ending Support for TLS 1.0 and 1.1
From March 1st, N-sight RMM will no longer support Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.0 or 1.1 for Agent to RMM console communication. Depending on a device’s configuration, this could affect older operating systems, including Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and 2012, as well as retired systems Windows XP and Server 2003. Please refer to this blog post for more information.
