Following our previous communication regarding digital certificates of MSP products, we are posting digital certificate updates on our agent with version 4.5.7 and our Backup Utility version 2.7.8.
These new versions will go live starting at 18:00 MST
Windows Agent
SolarWinds Passportal has released the newest version of our Windows agent (4.5.7). This new version contains an update to the digital certificate. No current agent functionality will be affected by this update.
The agent will automatically upgrade from the previous version (4.5.5 or 4.5.6). To check what version of the agent you are currently on, we have two methods depending on your licensing.
Passportal + Docs
Navigate to a client that has the agent installed. On the right hand side of the Client Overview is the Windows Agent Monitor field. Hit “View Details” to determine what version of the agent is running.
Passportal (Credential Management only)
Connect to the primary domain controllers from one of the clients with the agent and launch the Passportal application from the desktop. You will be able to read the version within here.
If you notice that your agent has not updated, we suggest manually pushing the agent with the steps below.
- Uninstall your current version of the agent
- Manually download the newest version of the agent located at Passportal -> Settings -> Downloads -> Passportal Agent
- Using a CMD line install via your in house RMM tool.
Backup Utility
We have also updated our Password Backup Utility (2.7.8) and its digital certificate. We recommend updating this tool as well as it may not run if you have an Antivirus installed on the machine. No data will be lost during the update to the newest version but uninstalling the Backup Utility will be required first.
