Dynamic Asset Tagging, Asset Activities and Additional Asset Information in N-central and N-sight

We’re pleased to announce several new features and product improvements to both N-sight and N-central. This release introduces new automated tagging capabilities, known as Dynamic Tagging, along with secure boot and OS feature release data for assets, and a new Asset Activities Panel that displays recent event codes for at-a-glance info about the device. These updates offer enhanced device management capabilities, greater control, and deeper insights into the environments and assets you manage.

Dynamic Asset Tagging

Dynamic Asset Tagging is now Generally Available, significantly enhancing tagging capabilities by enabling the automated addition and removal of tags based on user defined rules. This exciting new capability offers a scalable approach to asset categorisation and grouping. It also creates a foundation for future innovations such as policy deployments based on asset tags.

Configuring dynamic tag rules is easy and follows already established workflows and patterns from within Assets View, allowing you to filter devices by asset data and automatically apply specific tags to devices that match those rules.

New Visual Filters and Affected Software info now available in Vulnerability Management Preview in N-central and N-sight

We’ve enhanced the Vulnerabilities view with new interactive Visual Filters and introduced an Affected Assets tab for CVE details. These updates make it easier to prioritize critical vulnerabilities and quickly identify impacted software, helping you take action faster and improve your overall security posture.

Prioritization with Visual Filters in Vulnerability Views

We’ve added interactive visual filter widgets to the All Detections and By Vulnerability tabs to help you identify the most critical vulnerabilities in your environment. You can use the filters to drill into the customers and assets with the most vulnerabilities, vulnerabilities with exploits or ransomware, or filter detections by severity level.

On the All Detections tab:

Top Vulnerable Assets
Top Vulnerable Customers

And for the By Vulnerability Tab:

Detections by Severity Level

Has Ransomware

Affected Assets Tab for CVE Details

There’s also a new tab in the CVE Details Overlay that shows the Affected Software for a given vulnerability including the software name, versions affected, OS and Architecture affected, and whether there is an update available from the vendor and when the last update was made available by the vendor.

Report Manager 5.0 SP8 focuses on platform readiness, reporting accuracy, ETL performance, and security hardening. It’s a stability and futureproofing release rather than a feature explosion.

The new Report Manager service pack (SP8) includes platform updates, reporting accuracy improvements, and multiple performance, reliability, and security enhancements. This release adds support for SQL Server 2022 and Windows Server 2022, improves the accuracy of patch executive summary and patch detail reports, and delivers significant optimizations to ETL processing to better handle large data volumes and long-running jobs. SP8 also introduces stronger security hardening across web and API layers and improves maintenance services to prevent stalled data processing.

This service pack should be applied to your Report Manager server and does not require an upgrade to your N-central server version. For full details, including the complete list of fixed issues and download information, please refer to the release notes and link above.

Introducing Custom Properties in N-central Analytics Direct Data Access

We’re excited to announce a new feature in N-central Analytics: you can now create custom Device and Organization properties directly in Direct Data Access.

With custom properties, you can track data unique to your MSP. For example, you can track:

Windows 11 compatibility
BitLocker status
Service tiers

You can update these properties manually or automatically via scripts, giving you full control over your data.

How It Works

Analytics delivers custom property data in a lightly modeled, row-based format. Each row represents a property and includes columns for device or customer identifiers and their corresponding values.

You can use this data to filter, enrich, and refine your queries, unlocking more insights from your existing Direct Data Access views.

Patch Management Engine (PME) Update – Version 2.13.9 GA

We’re pleased to announce the General Availability (GA) of Patch Management Engine version 2.13.9.

This release contains the completion of 25H2 support, additional changes required to adopt the recent Microsoft patch title changes and changes to improve the resilience and robustness of a PME component.

Full support for Windows 11 25H2 upgrades

Previous release (2.13.6) introduced support for upgrading to Windows 11 25H2 via Enablement Package for devices already on Windows 11 24H2.

This update extends support to older Windows 11 editions and eligible Windows 10 devices, enabling in-place upgrades using ESD files.
Adaptation to Microsoft Patch Title changes

Enhanced processing, identification, matching, and filtering of patches based on OS and build number.
Improved resilience of File Cache Service Agent

Better recovery from failed downloads for increased robustness.

Advanced Notice: Update to N-sight Managed Antivirus for Bitdefender Agent 2.58.6.2

We’re pleased to inform you that we’ll be publishing an update for our Managed Antivirus agent. Starting Tuesday, December 9th, the agent will be updated to version 2.58.6.2, and it will be available in all regions by the end of the week.

This update enhances features, transitioning from Disinfectonly to Disinfect, and includes other improvements for product stability.

During the maintenance window:

All devices remain protected.
Definition updates will continue as normal.

However, the following N-sight (MAV-BD) functions will be unavailable:

Accessing Dashboard Settings options or the Antivirus tab
Opening Protection Policy screens
Installing N-sight (MAV-BD)
Upgrading the MAV-BD engine
Running N-sight (MAV-BD) reports
Accessing Quarantine
Running commands from the contextual menu

Additionally, N-sight (MAV-BD) checks may fail during this period.
