N-sight: North Pane to Assets View Deeplink Improvement

As we are continuing to add more information to the Ecoverse Assets View, we want to make it easier for users in the North Pane to access this additional information. New Metrics (CPU and Memory Usage) were recently released and the below features are on the way:

  • Asset activities view
  • New scripting
  • Patch and Vulnerabilities information
  • Installed software
  • Additional asset data such as OS Build and Codename, Reboot required status and more

To make this information more easily accessible, we enabled deeplinking from the North Pane to a specific device’s asset details within the Assets View, as mentioned here.

We have had positive comments on this improvement and are glad to see partners starting to incorporate it into their workflows. We have also had feedback that the implementation has disrupted some long-established work patterns, so we are making a couple of improvements to the user experience by updating the clickable hyperlinking to just the device name text, rather than the column cell. This should improve accidental clicks and make it easy to select and copy the device name. Note that you can click anywhere on the device row to select a device and see its information in the south pane.

N-central Mac agent v1.12.2

We’re releasing a new version of the N-central Mac agent today which contains a small hotfix to address a problem where Mac devices were periodically unable to communicate with N-central servers.

This hotfix ensures a continued reliable connection between Mac agents and N-central.

Advanced Notice: Update to N-sight Managed Antivirus for Mac Bitdefender Agent 1.4.3.70

Please be advised we will be publishing an update for Managed Antivirus for Mac. The agent will be updated to 1.4.3.70 starting Tuesday, August 26th, and available in all regions by the end of the week.

This release introduces optimizations aimed at improving performance, enhancing stability, and ensuring better maintainability.

Schedule:

  • APAC: 26 August 2025 starting with 08 AM EST / 01 PM UK / 03 PM Bucharest for a period of 2 hours
  • EU-Central: 27 August 2025 starting with 02 AM EST / 07 AM UK / 09 AM Bucharest for a period of 2 hours

Patch Management Engine (PME) 2.13.3 GA

We are pleased to announce the general availability of PME version 2.13.3, now being deployed across both N-sight and N-central platforms.


This release introduces targeted improvements to the handling of missing, incomplete, or corrupt metadata provided by Microsoft, with a focus on enhancing patch applicability and supersedence logic.

Key Enhancements:

  • Improved Supersedence Handling
    Enhanced logic to better manage scenarios where patch supersedence data is incomplete or unavailable.
  • Refined Applicability for Cumulative Updates
    Updates to our engine to calculate supersedence during patch detections, to prevent cases where older cumulative updates are flagged as required by the device itself despite newer versions already being installed.

These improvements aim to eliminate erroneous patch offerings to devices where they are not applicable, while also improving visibility into the patch supersedence hierarchy.

N-able Ecoverse: New Asset Metrics and UX Improvements

We are pleased to announce the availability of new Asset Metrics showing CPU and Memory usage for both N-central and N-sight!  To see the new feature, go to Assets View, open the Asset Details panel for that asset by clicking anywhere on the asset row, then click on the Metrics subtab to see the new CPU and Memory usage graphs. 

Asset Metrics is of high value for both L1 and L3 Technicians because it accelerates issue resolution, reduces escalations, and improves service quality by providing actionable insights into device performance. This empowers L1s to resolve more tickets independently and equips L3s with the context needed for efficient deep-dive investigations—ultimately driving operational efficiency and enhancing customer satisfaction.

We’re announcing the release of N-central 2024.6 Hot Fix 2(2024.6.2.5), which includes critical security fixes for CVE-2025-8875 and CVE-2025-8876. These vulnerabilities require authentication to exploit. However, there is a potential risk to the security of your N-central environment, if unpatched.

You must upgrade your on-premises N-central to 2024.6 HF2. Details of the CVEs will be published three weeks after the release as per our security practices.

What’s New in This Release

  • Antivirus Tab Update: We’ve resolved an issue in N-sight where deep scan results were only appearing approximately 24 hours after completion. Now, scan results display promptly, giving you faster visibility into your security status.
  • Additional Enhancements: This release also includes various internal improvements to enhance overall performance and reliability.
