Patch Management Engine (PME) 2.14.2 General Availability

Patch Management Engine (PME) 2.14.2 is now generally available. This release builds on the security improvements introduced in 2.14.1 and includes fixes that improve patch scanning and installation reliability. No action is required.

What’s New

Continued security improvements

Additional security enhancements have been added to the communication between PME components, building on the protections introduced in 2.14.1.

  • Backwards compatibility with existing probes: PME automatically selects the correct communication method for each probe version, so no configuration changes are needed.
  • Improved security: Unauthorised remote connections are blocked, adding an extra layer of protection on top of the existing safeguards.

Improved error handling for Windows Update scans

PME now handles errors from Windows Update components more gracefully, making patch scans more reliable. (PMCM-11405)

Fixed an issue reading Windows feature and package information

Resolved a problem with how PME reads DISM package information, improving accuracy when evaluating Windows components. (PMCM-12010)

Fixed an issue installing Foxit updates

Resolved a problem that could prevent Foxit updates from applying successfully. (PMCM-12039)
