Vulnerability & Patch Management Release Round-Up / Coming Soon

Third-party applications remain one of the most exploited surfaces in endpoint security, and the gap between discovering a vulnerability and actually remediating it is where risk compounds.

This round-up covers what we’ve shipped and what’s now available through early access across N-central and N-sight to close that gap:

  • A new Windows 3rd party patch engine covering 340+ applications—extending coverage alongside existing Linux and macOS patching (early access)
  • Vulnerability-to-patch remediation workflows (early access)
  • AI-driven patch insights in N‑zo—extending existing vulnerability insights (early access)
  • Usability improvements across Apple and Linux (now available)

Early Access: Vulnerability, Patching, and N‑zo Patch Expert

We’re expanding our early access program to provide a more complete view of how vulnerability and patch management come together.

What’s included

Windows 3rd Party Patch Engine
Patch management for Linux and macOS is already available. The new Windows 3rd party patch engine extends that coverage to 340+ managed applications—over 240 more than the existing solution—including Microsoft Office, C++, and other commonly deployed applications.

Continue using current policies and automation for core operations, while leveraging the new engine to:

  • Extend application coverage with 240+ additional applications
  • Run on-demand patching outside of scheduled automation

Note : The new patch engine is designed to complement your current setup. You can extend coverage and validate new workflows without disrupting existing patching operations.

Vulnerability-to-Patch Remediation
Remediate vulnerabilities directly from Vulnerability Management workflows, connecting risk prioritization to patching action in a single experience.

N‑zo Patch Expert
The N‑zo Vulnerability Expert is already available, helping teams identify and prioritize risk across their environment. The N‑zo Patch Expert adds to this by analyzing patching data and guiding remediation using natural language. N‑zo supports data from the new patch management experience across Linux, macOS, and Windows (where the new engine has been enabled), helping teams:

  • Identify assets with the highest number of missing critical or high-severity patches
  • Surface clients with the highest percentage of non-compliant devices
  • Troubleshoot assets that repeatedly fail patch installations—and understand why
  • Pinpoint vulnerabilities that represent the highest risk and can be resolved through available patches
  • Prioritize which devices to patch first based on overall risk

…along with additional queries across devices, clients, and overall environment health.

Why join now

  • Expand patch coverage immediately with hundreds of additional applications
  • Operationalize vulnerability-to-remediation workflows ahead of broader release
  • Evaluate how AI-assisted insights accelerate troubleshooting and decision-making
  • Provide feedback that directly shapes the roadmap

Recent minor updates

Apple Patch Management

Improved the patch icon in the Assets view to highlight devices where volume ownership is not set on the engine, making it easier to identify assets that may not be fully manageable for patching.

Linux & Apple

Client and site filtering has been added to the Completed Patches view, allowing technicians to quickly validate patching activity across specific customers and environments and export to CSV.
