What’s New in N-central 2026.2
N‑central 2026.2 is built around how IT teams actually work — helping them move faster, work more accurately, and stay secure without adding complexity. This release brings meaningful improvements directly into everyday workflows, including embedded AI guidance, more reliable device filtering, and clearer visibility into security risk.
Highlights include:
- N‑zo: Embedded AI Assistant with AI Management (Preview) – Contextual, in‑product AI guidance with centralized administrative control
- Enhanced Device Filtering with Nested AND Conditions – More accurate targeting and fewer false positives
- Security Insights & Remediation Dashboard (Preview) – Unified visibility into vulnerabilities, patching, and remediation progress
- Common Audit Log (Preview) – Centralized audit visibility aligned to existing roles and permissions
- Enhanced SSO Security with Back‑Channel Logout – Stronger session security and more consistent logout behavior
N‑zo: Embedded AI Assistant with AI Management (Preview)
IT teams spend too much time pulling data, running reports, and switching between tools just to answer basic questions about their environments. N‑zo changes that.
Built directly into N‑central, N‑zo is an embedded AI assistant that responds to natural-language questions using your actual device data, configurations, vulnerabilities, and operational context — not generic assumptions. Ask why a device is running slowly, check exposure to a specific CVE, or walk into a customer conversation with an AI-generated summary — all without leaving the console.
In the current preview, N‑zo is read‑only — it surfaces insights, answers, and recommendations, but does not execute actions on your behalf.
- Ask questions like: “Why is this device running slowly?”
- Quickly check exposure to a specific CVE
- Get product guidance without searching documentation or running reports
This release also includes AI Management: a centralized admin experience that gives administrators full control over how AI is enabled, accessed, and used. Activation is guided and deliberate, with role-based permissions ensuring only the right users have access. The result is confident, intentional AI adoption — without sacrificing governance or control.

MCP Servers: Extending AI Workflows Beyond the Product
In addition to N‑zo, N‑able also offers MCP (Model Context Protocol) Servers, which enable external AI tools—such as Copilot, Claude, or ChatGPT—to securely interact with live N‑central data.
While N‑zo focuses on in‑product guidance and insights, MCP Servers enable advanced, cross‑system workflows by allowing external AI tools to query data and execute supported actions across connected systems.
MCP Servers are available in public preview.

Enhanced Device Filtering with Nested AND Conditions
Accurate filtering is foundational to everything in N‑central — automation, reporting, policy targeting, and more. When filters return unexpected results, it creates downstream noise across the entire environment.
In 2026.2, device filtering has been significantly improved to eliminate the false positives that occurred when AND conditions were applied across unrelated records. Key improvements include:
- Nested AND conditions that evaluate correctly against the same object
- Clearer grouping of filter properties across devices, applications, and services
- Version‑aware OS filtering for more accurate results
- A new predefined system filter to identify Unified Agent–eligible devices
For teams managing complex environments at scale, this means less time troubleshooting unexpected filter results — and more confidence that the right devices are being targeted, every time.

Security Insights & Remediation Dashboard (Preview)
Understanding security posture shouldn’t require stitching together data from multiple views. The new Security Insights & Remediation Dashboard brings vulnerabilities, patch status, and remediation progress together in a single, unified experience.
Teams can quickly identify and act on what matters most:
- Vulnerabilities ranked by severity and exploitability
- Failed patches, deployment trends, and remediation lag
- High‑risk devices and top threats requiring immediate attention
A new Endpoint Remediation section in the navigation serves as the central hub for ongoing security operations, making it easier to move from insight to action in fewer steps. For teams responsible for security outcomes, this dashboard shifts the experience from reactive data review to proactive, risk‑based remediation.

Common Audit Log (Preview)
Audit visibility has historically required navigating multiple areas of N‑central to piece together a complete picture of system activity. The Common Audit Log changes that by centralizing audit records into a single, consistent experience.
Accessible through existing N‑central roles and permissions, the Common Audit Log makes it straightforward to review and report on platform activity — supporting compliance needs without adding administrative complexity.
Note: In the current preview, the Common Audit Log covers Ecoverse-generated user audit events. Support for classic N‑central audit events is planned for a future release.

Enhanced SSO Security with Back‑Channel Logout
Session security has been strengthened with support for Back‑Channel Logout. When a user’s SSO session ends, connected applications are now automatically notified — ensuring sessions are terminated consistently, without relying on browser behavior.
For teams managing access across multiple connected systems, this reduces the risk of lingering authenticated sessions and improves security posture during access changes or security events.
As part of this change, users will be prompted to review and acknowledge consent at each login, as session tokens are now tied directly to that consent.
Expanded REST APIs for Automation and Deployment
N‑central 2026.2 also extends platform automation capabilities with new REST APIs designed for teams managing environments at scale.
These APIs make it easier to automate agent deployment and programmatically manage organization limits across service organizations, customers, and sites — reducing manual setup and supporting more advanced provisioning workflows.
For teams building custom automation or integrating N‑central into broader operational tooling, these enhancements provide greater flexibility and control without impacting existing workflows.
Upgrade Guidance: Legacy EDR Integration
As part of N‑central’s ongoing transition to the enhanced EDR integration, N‑central 2026.2 introduces upgrade restrictions for environments where legacy EDR is still active.
If legacy EDR is detected, the upgrade will be paused and administrators will be guided to migrate to the enhanced EDR integration before proceeding. This safeguard is in place to prevent unsupported configurations and ensure a stable, successful upgrade experience.
Before upgrading, we recommend confirming your EDR integration status and completing any outstanding migration steps. Full guidance is available in the official N‑central 2026.2 Release Notes.
Bug Fixes and Platform Improvements
N‑central 2026.2 also includes a range of bug fixes and stability improvements across core platform functionality. For a complete list of resolved issues and technical details, refer to the official N‑central 2026.2 Release Notes.
