Introducing the Public Preview of N-zo: N-able’s AI Assistant — and the N-able MCP Server

N-zo: Your AI Assistant for N-central and N-sight

Today we’re introducing the Public Preview of N-zo, N-able’s embedded AI assistant — built directly into N-central and N-sight — designed to help IT teams work faster, reduce manual effort, and make more confident decisions using the data their environment is already generating.

Unlike generic AI tools, N-zo understands your devices, your environment, and your N-able products. Ask a question in plain English and get a precise, actionable response — without digging through reports, searching documentation, or jumping between tools.

In initial preview testing, N-zo delivered an average of ~70% time savings across common IT tasks — with up to 80% efficiency gains on documentation lookups and 53% on device troubleshooting.*

*Estimated efficiency gains are based on Keystroke-level modelling (KLM). This estimates how long an expert user would take to perform a task vs. the time to make the request through N-zo as of March 2026. Individual results may vary.

What You Can Do with N-zo

N-zo launches with three expert agents, each purpose-built to help you work faster and make better decisions in the areas that matter most.

Troubleshoot faster and manage smarter

When a user reports a slow device or something looks off in your environment, every minute spent investigating is a minute not spent resolving. N-zo gives you instant visibility into device health, performance, and anomalies — so you can identify root causes, flag issues, and walk into any stakeholder conversation fully briefed, without running a single report or pulling data manually.

Sample prompts

  • “Why is CEO-laptop running slow?”
  • “Can you give me an executive summary of what’s going on with their devices and flag any problems I should know about?”
  • “Can you list 10 devices at [customer] that may need an upgrade and why?”

Get answers without leaving the product

Searching documentation, navigating support articles, and hunting for the right setting or report pulls technicians out of their workflow and slows everything down. N-zo gives you instant, plain-English answers to product questions — right inside N-central and N-sight — so you can keep moving without the context switch.

Sample prompts

  • “Is there a report I can run to see if my endpoints are encrypted?”
  • “How do I enable Patch Management on one of my assets?”
  • “How would I integrate with Passportal?”

Know your exposure before it becomes a problem

When a new CVE drops or a vulnerability scan surfaces something concerning, speed matters. N-zo lets you instantly understand which devices are affected, how severe the exposure is, and where to focus remediation efforts first — without manually correlating data across reports or waiting on someone else to pull the findings together.

Powered by the Risk and Vulnerability Expert

Sample prompts

  • “I’m worried about CVE-2026-2760. Do any of my devices have this?”
  • “Can you show me a list of devices that have a vulnerability risk score more than 95?”
  • “Which devices have already been remediated and which still require action?”

This is just the beginning

The Public Preview of N-zo launches with three experts focused on the areas where teams spend the most time today: device troubleshooting, product guidance, and vulnerability risk. Over the coming months, additional experts will be introduced — expanding N-zo’s ability to support more workflows, deeper automation, and broader security and operations use cases across N-central and N-sight.

The result is an AI assistant that grows alongside your needs — delivering more value over time without changing how your team works.

N-central and N-sight MCP Server — Now in Public Preview

N-zo brings AI inside the product. The N-able MCP server extends that value beyond the UI — enabling both N-central and N-sight to connect with external AI tools and orchestrators using live environment data.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets any compatible AI tool — Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or others — query live data and take supported actions in your systems in real time. No custom code. No stale snapshots. No rebuilding integrations every time something changes.

Key benefits

  • Connect any MCP-compatible AI tool to live N-central and N-sight data instantly
  • Query telemetry, assets, and operational data in real time — always current
  • Execute supported actions bidirectionally — not just read-only assistance
  • Combine the N-able MCP server with other vendor MCP servers in a single AI orchestrator for cross-platform workflows
  • Secure by design — AI operates within your existing authentication, roles, and permission scopes

Sample prompts

  • “When a critical alert fires for this client, log the affected devices in our IT documentation tool and post a summary to our team channel.”
  • “I’m an IT manager responsible for managing this environment. Can you tell me what I should be worried about and make it into a well-formatted checklist I can give to my technicians as a hunt list?”
  • “Find devices with less resources than Microsoft recommends for their current OS.”

Availability

The Public Preview of N-zo is available now for N-central hosted customers and all N-sight customers. N-central on-prem customers will gain access with the release of version 2026.2. The N-able MCP server is available in Public Preview now for all N-central and N-sight customers, including on-prem.
