Linux Patch Management: Decline and Un-decline Patches

You can now explicitly decline patches and remove the declined status when needed, giving you greater control over what updates are installed across your devices.

What’s new

  • Decline patches directly from the Available Patches view using bulk or individual selection.
  • Un-decline patches at any time by removing the declined status.

Why this matters

This enhancement gives technicians a clear, intentional way to:

  • Prevent specific patches from being installed (for example, patches known to cause issues in your environment).
  • Maintain visibility and accountability over patching decisions.
  • Re-enable patches quickly once issues are resolved or validation is complete.

How it works

  • Select one or more patches in Available Patches and choose Decline patches from the Actions menu. This opens up an asset selector to allow you to choose which assets to set the decline on.
  • Declined patches are excluded from installation workflows.
  • You can view assets impacted by declined patches and remove the declined status at any time to allow future installation.

Where you’ll see it

  • Actions menu in the patch list (Decline patches).
  • Asset views highlighting devices with declined patch installations.
  • Patch status columns reflecting declined state.

Coming Soon

  • Decline action within the Patch Asset Tab.
  • Auto Declines via Patch Policies.
