N-sight and N-central now offer enhanced reboot controls from Assets View, giving technicians greater flexibility while reducing disruption for end users.
What’s new
When rebooting a Windows or macOS device from the Assets View, technicians can now give end users the option to defer or cancel a reboot, within limits defined by the technician. Alongside existing custom reboot messaging and countdown timers, you can now:
- Allow the end user to snooze the reboot, including a defined snooze duration and a maximum number of snoozes before the reboot proceeds
- Allow the end user to cancel the reboot

Preview the end-user experience before confirming
Before initiating a reboot, a live preview of the reboot prompt is displayed, allowing you to see exactly what the end user will experience.
By default, snooze is enabled and cancel is disabled, giving you a starting point that can be adjusted per action.
Immediate reboots when timing matters
For scenarios that require an immediate restart, such as remediation tasks or controlled maintenance windows, technicians can select No timer (reboot now) from the countdown options. This triggers the reboot immediately, bypassing the end-user notification.
Platform support
The below options are available from the Actions menu in Assets View, where you can initiate a reboot for online assets today. Access is controlled by user permissions, ensuring only authorised users can initiate reboots.
- Windows and macOS: Supports reboot countdown, custom messaging, snooze, and cancel
- Linux: Supports reboot countdown and custom messaging
Asset tagging improvements
In addition to this, tag management has had some usability improvements.
Asset data export
Assets view export now includes a full set of tags assigned to an asset, providing better visibility into how assets are categorized and organized.

Dynamic tag filtering
When creating dynamic tag rules / filters, we’ve introduced some new asset data points to give greater granularity on the automatic tagging of assets.
We now include SecureBoot status, BitLocker status, OS Feature release and Reboot required status. This provides the ability to automatically tag assets based on specific security characteristics.
Tag access level
Easily view, sort and filter based on where your tags are created within our Organization, Customer and Site hierarchy. Drill down to tags that are relevant to relevant cohorts of assets.
