We wanted to make you aware of a new capability coming to Cove later this month. With the 24.10 release, the Cove team has added the ability restore Microsoft 365 data to an alternate licensed user in the same domain.

Several partners requested this capability to ease legal investigations or compliance audits (e.g., to give a compliance officer or legal counsel the ability to review specific information without altering the original data). Others said they could use it to aid certain workflows (e.g., to run monthly restore tests for their end customers).

It also can streamline employee on- and off-boarding, role changes and internal transfers, as well as account compromise recovery. For an overview of the restore process using this new capability, check out the updated User Guide.

Restore to Alternate User will be automatically turned on in Cove with the 24.10 release, expected for October 17, 2024. If for any reason now or in the future, you would like to turn this capability off, please contact Support.
