We are pleased to let you know that we have released several updates to N-sight, including new out-of-the-box Automated Tasks for Apple, more asset data and filtering options in the Asset Inventory view for inventory reports and custom device lists, a new Windows RC agent, plus an update to VSS Monitoring as part of the EDR service. Here are all the details… 

OS Install Date in Asset Inventory  

Now you can see an “OS Install Date” column in the Asset Inventory view, so it’s easy to see when the OS upgrade was deployed. We will soon be enhancing this further with a date filter option (which will be added all the date columns) so you can start to specify time frames as part of filtering for device sets.

Filter Builder Now Supports ‘OR’ Queries 

The Asset Inventory view’s search function has been enhanced with Boolean ‘OR’ and ‘NOT’ functionality. It means you can produce more targeted lists of assets. It also now offers the ability to group filter options together for even further refinement. We’ll be enhancing our KB articles to assist with the more advanced Filter Builder functionality, in the meantime please have a play and share any feedback you may have. 

Five New Automated Tasks for Apple

Now you have five more out-of-the-box Apple Automated Tasks to work with, making it easier to configure firewall settings and start and stop Time Machine Backup if configured on the Apple device. Here are the new scripts: 

• Firewall Status Script Check (24×7 & DSC) 
• Enable Firewall Automated Task 
• Disable Firewall Automated Task 
• Start Time Machine Backup Automated Task 
• Stop Time Machine Backup Automated Task 

To use them, go to the Apple device in the north pane, then on the Tasks tab in the south pane, select Add Automated Task:

VSS Monitoring for SentinelOne 

We have made further updates to VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service) Monitoring of VSS snapshots associated with SentinelOne EDR Agents. Use check alerts to be notified about any issues related to VSS snapshots, allowing for proactive response and mitigation.

Note that in the Americas regions, some existing devices with EDR already installed will have the VSS check added in about a week’s time. Existing devices in the other regions and devices that are newly enrolled in EDR have the check added automatically.

Windows RC Agent v10.13.4 

We have released a new Windows RC Agent, v10.13.4. This contains an update that is part of an upcoming upgrade to Automation in N-sight, so that when you run Automated Tasks on demand, it will more reliably execute the Task in near real time. We will share more details in due course as we make the feature improvement ready for release.
