N-able Mail Assure: February Features and Updates Release

This month, in addition to the usual bundle of bug fixes and minor improvements, we’ve enhanced the Customer Management menu with more settings for the Incoming Filter service at the partner/customer level. Additionally, the default Private Portal Policies Management has been updated.

New Settings Pages – Customer Management

Over the next two weeks, we will be enabling the second group of Incoming Filter options at the partner/customer level aimed at improving the settings management in Mail Assure.

General Settings, a new tab-page, has been added at the Protection Settings level, offering four  additional  features for the Incoming Filter service that can be maintained at partner/customer level:

  • Reject newsletters – if enabled, the incoming messages detected as newsletters are rejected.
  • Reject messages from newly created domains – if enabled, the incoming messages sent from a domain, registered less than a day before, are rejected.
  • Quarantine response – if enabled, it informs the sender in case the message was rejected.
  • Block Top Level Domains – if enabled, the incoming messages from the specified domains are blocked. This setting is available only for Custom Security Level.

The option to inherit the value from the higher level is available for every setting.

The Attachment Settings tab-page under the Protection Settings level has been enhanced with two additional features for the Incoming Filter service that can be maintained at partner/customer level:

  • Blocked extensions – the incoming messages having attachments with specific extensions can be blocked.
  • Disallowed release extensions – the incoming messages having attachments with specific extensions cannot be released by the email users.

The option to inherit the value from the higher level is available for both new added settings.

Default Private Portal Policies Management

The default Private Portal policy related to sensitive data has been changed to include the messages containing credit card or bank account information.

There are no changes related to the default Private Portal policies configurations; they are created, as before, through both Add Domain and Microsoft 365 Sync wizards, in case “Default Private Portal policies” option is enabled.
