N-able Backup Release 22.1

N-ableTM Backup release 22.1 brings numerous UI enhancements for a better user experience, continued performance improvements to Backup for Microsoft 365, and improvement to the automated Recovery Testing feature.

Backup Management Console
Enhancements to the backup management dashboard include a new column to easily see whether passphrase encryption has been enabled on specific devices, indicating whether a passphrase or encryption key will be required to perform restores.

Functionality previously behind the “Edit” button has been split into two more intuitive sections: “move” and “assign product.” The new move device workflow includes a dialogue box for cases where conflicts such as missing device profiles are detected. A new dialogue steps through the process of adding the required profile before moving.

On the security front, a new token-based credentials exchange service will standardize authentication across all parts of N-able Backup.

Microsoft 365
A new progress bar provides visual confirmation as new users are being added to the backup selection, and back-end improvements have been made to further improve performance and stability. Also, adding large domains with 10,000 or more users is now faster and easier, thanks to a new user addition engine.

Recovery Testing
With this release, users with the administrative role of Manager can add or remove devices from the automated Recovery Testing plan. Previously, only Super Users had this authority.
