We are pleased to announce that Tuesday October 5th, the Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) product will be releasing a new Windows agent 21.6 SP (21.6.4.423). We strongly recommend upgrading these agents as soon as possible to provide the maximum level of protection available.
New and improved in Windows Agent 21.6 SP1:
- Enhanced Detection and Prevention for Microsoft MSHTML Remote Code Execution Vulnerability CVE-2021-40444. The Agent will detect the exploit phase in its early stage and report a suspicious level threat in the Management Console. If the Policy is set to “Protect” for Suspicious threats, the Agent will automatically mitigate the exploit attempt.
- Important security fix. Applicable only for Agents upgraded to version 21.6.1 or later. The issue found does not apply to new installations of version 21.6.x. Customers with endpoints that were upgraded to Agent version 21.6.1 or later, are encouraged to update to this version.
