We’re pleased to announce that we’ve started the roll out of the latest Dashboard release, which includes an exciting new MSP Anywhere Take Control feature and a workflow improvement to Backup & Recovery.
The Backup & Recovery enhancement is currently rolling out to customers in Asia Pacific and selected European territories. Other territories, including the US, UK, Benelux, Germany and France, will follow in the next few days. The improvements to Take Control will go live later in the week for all areas, we’ll of course let you know when the updates are available in each region.
Here are the details of what’s included:
Talk to customers with VoIP for MSP Anywhere Take Control
With VoIP, you can talk directly to your client user once you’ve established your Take Control session, all from the convenience of the MSP Anywhere Take Control console. The service is totally encapsulated and encrypted for best performance and security. Note: for the protection of user privacy, all calls will start muted on the remote end of the connection.
This feature appears under a new ‘Session’ option that shows in the footer menu for devices that are running a compatible MSP Anywhere agent (v6.80.10 or newer). Simply click the link to start and stop a VoIP call.
A Better Workflow for Restoring Inactive Backup Accounts with Backup & Recovery
Please note, this Backup & Recovery enhancement requires Agent v10.5.11 or above.
We’re enhancing Backup & Recovery so that when you select an Inactive Backup Account in order to restore it onto a new device, it will restore it with the original file selections and settings of that inactive backup account, instead of reverting back to the system default selection. It means you don’t have to reconfigure those settings before you start backing up again. We’ve also enhanced the UI a little to make it a bit clearer and easier to use, as you can see in the following screenshot.
In addition, it will now give you the option to restore the inactive backup account with Backup & Recovery’s ‘Restore-only mode’, as shown below. This way, you can focus on the priority of restoring the selected backup slot, without yet having to consider its backup schedule and selections. When you are ready to start backing up again, simply open up the Backup Manager console and switch it to standard mode.
