MAX RM 6.7 – Service Release with Patch Management Agent Upgrade (RC) is being made live today

Our next release which includes a Patch Management Agent update (Agent 9.13.0 RC) and MAX RM Dashboard 6.7 is being pushed to all territories today so that these will be available for first thing tomorrow morning

This update will introduce new version of the Patch Management Agent, which will include support for more than 40 additional products (see below for the full list). The new agent provides the foundations for a series of Patch Management improvements that we will be delivering in the months ahead. One enhancement that will be included in this release is a new column to tell you whether a patch is installable or not.

In addition, this release will ensure that Agent 9.12.3 will be made GA so that Automated tasks will be manageable with the use of Monitoring Templates.

Further, we are going to add a checkbox to the add / edit monitoring templates dialog to decide whether or not the 24×7 monitoring frequency and DSC run time should be applied to the device when the template is applied.

Note: We have identified an issue with the release candidate feature for Agent faster check-in. This was introduced in Agent 9.12.1 and as such, have suppressed this feature for now in 9.12.3  whilst we investigate this.  This implies that servers and workstations will check-in as per the current GA agent behavior.

The Patch Management Agent Upgrade…
Note that this is an Agent update so you need to install the new RC Agent to take a look.

The new Patch Management agent update lays the groundwork for future Patch Management improvements, and opens up access to more data points, such as the reason for a patch installation failure. We’ll be incorporating these improvements into future releases. In the meantime, this update greatly broadens support for non-Microsoft products.
