We are pleased to announce the release of an update to the Attachment Blocking capabilities within the LogicNow MAX MailProtection service.  Administrators can now configure the service to automatically detect file types within message attachments, as well as the presence of files with designated filename extensions, in order to block unwanted attachments.

This optional feature provides another layer of defense in addition to the four existing antivirus engines that will continue to scan each message and attachment.  The attachment blocking can be enabled and configured in the control panel via the Management > Inbound Filtering > Additional Blocking Rules > Attachment Types tab.
