GFI MAX RemoteManagement – Agent v9.1.1 Auto-Update – Remote Command Line GA

Hi Everyone,

It gives me great pleasure to announce, that after a successful Release Candidate phase, Agent v9.1.1 is now available for auto-update. This replaces Agent v8.18.6 as the current production Agent and means that Remote Command Line, the first function of our new Remote Background Management feature, is now on General Availability and as such will be chargeable in September (appearing in 30th September invoices and usage reports).

Agent v9.1 is currently installed on approx. 13,000 devices, which together with Agent v9.0 RC brings the number of devices using the new persistent connection mechanism to over 25,000. Of the devices with Agent v9.1 RC installed, approx. 4000 have enabled the Remote Background Management feature as shown below. There have been over 2,000 successful Remote Command Line sessions to these devices in the last two weeks.

Remote Background Management is included in the existing RMM server and workstation price cap (please contact your account manager for details) and we hope that you will take advantage of this and enable Remote Background Management on all of your devices (and then update them Agent v9.1), which you can do as follows:

  1. From Settings menu, select Remote Background Settings
    1. Select Servers and turn Setting On
    2. Select Workstations and turn Setting On
    3. By default, Require Dashboard password on session start is selected
    4. Click OK
  1. In Settings menu, select Agent Auto-update Settings
    1. In Servers tab, select Update all servers to Agent v9.1.1
    2. In Workstations tab, select Update all workstations to Agent v9.1.1

Should you wish to speed up the deployment of Remote Background Management and / or update to Agent v9.1 on an individual device, right-click on that device and select Re-Run Checks

Further details can be found in the Help system. Next up is Remote Process Control to list running processes, the resources they are using and the option kill any that are non-responsive. Note that when the time comes, this will be included in the single charge for Remote Background Management – you do not have to pay separately for the individual Remote Command Line and Remote Process Control functions. Again, for further details please contact your account manager.

As usual, any and all feedback welcome – looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible at the upcoming customer conferences.

Mark.
