What’s New in Cove 26.5 – HaloPSA Integration GA

In Cove 26.5, our integration with HaloPSA is now generally available for all customers. This native integration is designed to streamline ticketing workflows by auto-creating tickets for detected backup failures directly in your HaloPSA environment.

Cove now natively integrates with HaloPSA, helping MSPs respond faster to backup failures by auto-creating tickets directly in their HaloPSA environment. This integration will keep all backup-related work inside the service desk to streamline ticketing workflows and reduce manual effort and operational friction.

When a “PSA Ticket” notification is triggered, the following workflow is applied to ensure efficient ticket handling:

  • If no open ticket exists for the affected device, a new ticket is automatically created including relevant backup failure details so technicians can immediately begin triage and response.
  • If an open ticket already exists for the affected device, this ticket is updated with the latest failure details instead of creating a duplicate ticket. This keeps related backup failures in a single ticket to maintain a clear view of the ongoing issue and its history.
  • When tickets are made, it will trigger existing PSA rules for assignment, priority, and SLAs.

We introduced performance improvements to make Exchange Online backups faster and more efficient:

  • Unchanged attachments are no longer re-downloaded
  • Reduced caching and fewer cache resets
  • Faster attachment enumeration during backup

This will result in shorter backup windows and better scalability for large mailboxes and tenants.

Issue: the Restore UI could show “No session available” for long-running backup sessions, preventing restores of otherwise valid backups.

Fix: Restore coverage is now extended to include long-running backup sessions, ensuring Exchange mailbox restores work reliably across more scenarios and reducing restore-related escalations.

We’ve improved the Cove DRaaS VPN agent initialization flow to make token entry easier and less error-prone.

The initialization token now uses a shorter clearer format: 52 characters split into 13 groups of 4. The input field also supports automatic capitalization, placeholder dots, common character correction such as I → 1, U → V, and O → 0, and allows users to clear the field with Esc.

Token submission is enabled only after the full token is entered, reducing setup errors during DRaaS VPN configuration.

The public preview is available free of charge until July and is supported across all regions. Sign-up for the public preview here.

Cove DRaaS Disclaimer: Cove DRaaS is available at no cost during the public preview, which is limited to five devices. If Cove DRaaS remains deployed and active at the time of general availability, it will automatically convert to a paid feature and billing will apply. To add additional devices, contact our sales team.

We’ve added a “Backup session time” column to the Recovery Testing dashboard.

This column shows the timestamp of the backup session used for the latest recovery test, making it easier to confirm that recent backup data was used. If the timestamp is outdated, it may indicate that backups should be checked.
