Release Take Control – Integrated Linux Viewer 7.44.08

This release updates the Take Control Linux Viewer to align with the latest Windows Viewer codebase, improving security compliance and overall stability. It is recommended for all Linux users running Take Control sessions.

What’s New

  • General stability and reliability improvements for Linux-based viewer sessions.

Note: Linux Viewers are not automatically installed. Manual installation is required.

Installation Instructions

(Full details available in the README.txt included in each zip file)

  1. Extract the zip file.
  2. Change script permissions to allow execution by administrators only:
    • sudo chmod +x *
  3. Run the appropriate installation script:
    • For N-central: installNcentral.sh
    • For N-sight: installNSight.sh
  4. Register the protocol so the browser can launch the Viewer when starting a session:
    • ./protocolRegister.sh

Uninstallation

  • For N-central: UninstallNCentral.sh
  • For N-sight: UninstallNSight.sh

Notes

  • On some Linux distributions, Wine may have issues with window decoration.
    If this occurs:
    1. Run winecfg
    2. Open the Graphics tab
    3. Disable “Allow the window manager to decorate the windows”

These updates improve security compliance, stability, and alignment with the current Take Control Viewer architecture. Feedback on this release is welcome to help validate the new Linux Viewer pipeline.
