We are pleased to let you know that we have released two new improvements to Vulnerability Management in N-sight, here are the details:
- Display if a CVE Vulnerability has an update available: Instantly see which vulnerabilities have vendor fixes available for faster, more informed patching decisions to reduce risk and protect customers.
- All Vulnerabilities View – grouping detections by CVE: Quickly visualize vulnerability exposure across your environment by CVE ID for faster risk assessment and smarter remediation decisions.

The team’s already hard at work on the next set of improvements, which includes the ability to click and see the list of assets that have a particular vulnerability, along with a slide-out panel with additional CVE details. What’s more, we will be adding Apple Mac support shortly as well – so stay tuned for future updates!
Searchable & Improved Windows Service Checks
Following recent updates to the loading times of several dialogs, we will soon also be improving the Windows Service Check dialog. Going forward, the users can now simply type in the service name they want to select. The new searchable interface ensures faster load times and improved usability at scale, as previously it tried to load all services across all devices into a dropdown, resulting in performance issues for larger accounts.

We will be rolling these updates out over the next couple of weeks, we very much hope they help improve performance and efficiency of N-sight in your day to day operations.
Session timeout update
- UPDATE 11 June – Following partner feedback, we reverted this particular change. We will revisit this with broader input to ensure we strike the right balance between maintaining security and supporting operational flexibility. Thank you for sharing your concerns.
Note that as part of updating the N-sight integration with N-able Single Sign On, we will be deprecating the option to set custom session timeouts in the General Settings > Security > Session Timeout section. Instead, sessions will automatically expire after 30 minutes of inactivity. This change ensures a more consistent and secure experience across the application, and is expected to roll out to partners over the next two weeks.

We are also updating how SSO interacts when a user’s IP address changes mid-session. Currently if a user’s IP address changes mid-session, it results in a logout. Going forward, it will be possible to whitelist IP addresses using the existing IP Address Restrictions feature in General Settings > Security. It means users will remain logged into N-sight, even if the IP address changes, provided it is listed in the Approved IP Addresses List.
