We have released Take Control Windows Viewer 7.50.19 and Windows Console 7.50.19 to address the recent issues related to Windows Defender impacting remote session performance.
What’s Changed?
- We have modified the way logging is handled across all modules to prevent interference with Windows Defender.
- This change reduces performance degradation and prevents high CPU usage that some technicians were experiencing during sessions.
Why This Update?
- Our ongoing work with Microsoft has resulted in partial exclusions being added to Windows Defender, but to ensure long-term stability, we have made internal adjustments to eliminate dependency on exclusions and manual workarounds.
Who Should Update?
- Technicians using Take Control Integrated (N-central & N-sight) should update to Windows Viewer 7.50.19.
- Technicians using Take Control Standalone should update to Windows Console 7.50.19.
Please note that these updates should be automatically deployed. We will continue working closely with Microsoft and monitoring improvements in upcoming Windows Defender updates. Thank you for your patience and support!
