We are excited to announce updates across the Linux Agent, Viewer, and Console for both Integrated and Standalone Take Control. These updates bring new features, improved compatibility, and enhanced performance. Below are the details for each module:

Take Control Linux Agent (v0.00.62)

What’s New:

  • Support for Linux Wayland: Added compatibility with Linux Wayland environments. When remote access is initiated, a confirmation message will appear, and the end-user must approve access before proceeding.
  • Updated Dependency Management: Removed the unnecessary gpgv2 dependency and added the gpg package requirement, ensuring successful installation on Ubuntu 24.04 (LTS) and future Linux distributions.

Bug Fixes:

  • Resolved various issues to enhance performance and reliability.

Take Control Linux Console (v7.44.06)

What’s New:

  • Released an updated version of the Linux Console and Viewer.
  • Improvements to performance, reliability, and overall compatibility.

Take Control Integrated Linux Viewer (v7.44.06)

What’s New:

  • The Integrated Linux Viewer is now compatible with both N-central and N-sight.
  • Manual Installation Required: N-central and N-sight do not automatically install the Viewer on Linux. Users must manually download, install, and configure the Viewer to enable sessions.

Viewer Download Links:

Installation Instructions (README.txt file inside the zip):

  • Change the permissions of the scripts to restrict installation to admins: sudo chmod +x *
  • Run the installation script for N-central: installNcentral.sh, and for N-sight: installNSight.sh
  • Register the protocol to ensure the browser can open the Viewer when a session is launched: protocolRegister.sh

Uninstallation Instructions:

  • Run the uninstall script: For N-central: UninstallNCentral.sh

Notes:

  • On some Linux distributions, Wine may encounter issues with window decoration. If this occurs, open a terminal, run winecfg, and disable the “Allow the window manager to decorate the windows” option under the Graphics tab.

These updates enhance the compatibility and functionality of Take Control on Linux platforms, ensuring a better experience for Integrated and Standalone users. If you need assistance, please contact our support team.
