We’re excited to announce the beta release of an all-new Assets View in N-sight! Running on powerful new Ecoverse architecture, Assets View is purposefully designed to be the basis for a new technician-focused workflow to help users resolve IT issues more efficiently. This new view supports Windows 10 and Server 2016 and up, as well as Linux, with Apple Mac coming soon.
This is a beta release – we’ll be continuously enhancing the view with more data and new features such as a brand-new reboot option and saving custom views, which we’ll be rolling out in the next few weeks. We’d love to hear your feedback – please use the feedback button top right of the screen.
Assets View combines a smart, flexible design with a modern agent to further improve N-sight’s capability. You’ll have the ability to customise your work pane and be more productive to quickly:
- Identify assets
- View important device details
- Remediate within the screen with Take Control (and other actions coming soon, e.g. Reboot a device)
Deep Link to the North Pane
Aside from viewing the important device details within the new Assets View, by clicking on a specific device’s asset name, you can view this device in the North Pane within the ‘All Devices’ view.
Quickly Remediate Using Take Control
Using the button within the ‘Actions’ column to the right of a device, you can quickly launch Take Control. Soon, this will also offer a new reboot option with the ability to set a countdown time and customize the message end-users will see.

Customisation of Assets View
The new Assets view is available via the left side navigation bar and can be customised to build your perfect pane using:
- Advanced filtering
- Column chooser
- Table styling

Advanced Filtering
Granular filtering capabilities can be used to create custom device lists for technician workflows and day-to-day device management. The filter builder can be used to create highly detailed device views.

Column Customisation
You can order the columns as you wish, show or hide columns, adjust the column width, and if you right-click on the column header you can also fix the columns in position.
Table Styling
You can further customise your view using the table styling options by clicking on the three-dot icon to the right of the export button. Here you can see more devices at a time within the grid by using the ‘compact’ or ‘tiny’ row density options, and show/hide column and row lines within the grid display. The ‘rest table’ button can be used to restore the view back to default.

Coming Soon…
In the coming months this view will continue to be updated with new features, including the below, please stay tuned!
- Summary widgets
- Saved custom views
- Additional data columns
- Customisable reboot functionality
- Improved scripting with run-on-demand function
New Assets View vs Device Inventory
Although the new Assets view follows a similar design to the Device Inventory screen, it is quite different; pulling on new architecture and rich data from the new modern agent, the screen allows technicians to manage devices at scale to improve efficiency and unlocks the first Ecoverse screen for the continued modernisation of N-sight. Where the Device Inventory view focuses on the lifecycle management of a device, the new Assets View use case is primarily aimed at improving a helpdesk technician’s efficiency.
We hope that the new Assets view helps you manage your customers’ devices more efficiently. Please share your feedback to help us continue to expand this view!
Just to summarize which assets are supported:
- Windows servers and workstations from Server 2016 and Windows 10 up
- All Linux servers
- Mac workstations will be coming in the new year
- A device must have been online in recent days to show in the new view
