Apple DMA: FileVault Management, Device Level Widgets and Lost Mode

Following our earlier announcement, we are thrilled to share that FileVault Management has been fully released on N-sight. This feature is also available to all N-central partners starting from version 24.6.

FileVault Management is designed to help streamline your encryption management for macOS devices and keep your data safe. With FileVault Management, you can now:

  • Easily Enable and Enforce Encryption: Protect your organization’s data by enabling FileVault encryption across all macOS devices, ensuring compliance and data security.
  • Monitor Encryption Status: Gain real-time visibility into the encryption status of each device, making it simple to verify compliance and pinpoint any issues.
  • Manage Recovery Keys: Generate and retrieve recovery keys, allowing secure access to encrypted devices if needed.


Our FileVault Management solution provides centralised control over macOS device encryption, offering enhanced data protection and simplifying security management.

This release also adds new device level widgets Including Disk space, battery health and OS updates:



Coming Soon: Lost Mode for iPads and iPhones

We are excited to introduce Lost Mode for iPads and iPhones, available exclusively for supervised devices within DMA.

Lost Mode is an Apple security feature available on iPads and iPhones. It helps protect your device and its data if it is lost or stolen.

Once Lost Mode is activated on a device (controlled by user permissions) and map will attempt to display the devices location, you will then be able to perform the following actions:

  • Lock screen information – Show custom text/messages on the lock screen including your contact details
  • Last Known Location – Display the most recent location
  • Closest Address – Shows the closest address obtained by GPS
  • GPS Coordinates – Shows coordinates within the map
  • Sounds – Play a sound on the device so that it can be found easier
  • Wipe Device Data – Send a wipe device command to the device if necessary
