Patch Management: PME Update

We are releasing a small update to PME to improve how we handle 2 specific scenarios. This will be available as an RC build within the next 24 hours

  1. Adapted checksum verification for Windows 11 ESD install

To continue to support Windows 11 Feature Upgrades in full we have had to adapt the checksum verifications due to a change by Microsoft.

This is specifically for the larger 5 GB upgrade and was not needed for the enablement package which is currently out and available and should be the preferred installation method where possible

Please note that this engine will have to fully go GA before Windows 11 ESD version will show as available.
  2. Added logic to manually correct bugged patches by Microsoft

This release was added due to a problematic update (KB5001716) which is a recurring KB periodically released by Microsoft. This particular update was causing some customers issues due to the endpoints showing it as a viable patch, even though the superseding version was already installed and would subsequently fail when an install was attempted.

As we can not stop Microsoft from offering it at the device level we can ensure the supersedence is respected and prevent this issue where possible.

We have always been able to do this by KB, however, since this KB is reused this release gives us the capability to do it by GUID and will likely come in helpful in the future if and when another bugged patch is out
