This coming weekend, N-able will release Cove Data Protection version 22.8, with a new option for the Standby Image feature, as well as numerous security, UI and bug fix enhancements.
Standby Image to NAS
With this release, we will introduce a new type of storage location available for partners using the Standby Image billable feature: Network Share. This will allow a recovery VHDX to be stored on a NAS device, ready for use by a Hyper-V virtual machine. This option will be especially helpful for partners that want a head start on recovery but do not maintain a self-hosted hypervisor or would like to optimize storage size by using a file server on a network.
Management console
Enhancements based on partner feedback continue to be implemented in the beta version of the new main product dashboard. If you have not yet tried it, please click on the toggle switch at the top of the screen. You can go back to the legacy view at any time using the same toggle.
Other enhancements
- In response to customer feedback, the Recovery Console and Backup Manager icons have been updated and enlarged for improved readability.
- Password changes now trigger the termination of all active sessions, for enhanced security.
- Additional changes have been made to further harden product security.
