N-sight: Tactical delighters & Windows RC Agent Release Update

Several targeted updates are rolling out to N-sight in the coming days, focused on day‑to‑day usability for technicians and operational reliability for partners. These include a refreshed Windows System Tray icon, improved Windows performance monitoring defaults, a new Windows RC Agent, and confirmation that Take Control is FIPS 140‑3 compliant.

Improved Windows System Tray icon

Requires Windows RC Agent 10.15.2

Based on partner feedback, the Windows System Tray icon has been updated to improve visibility on newer operating systems, particularly Windows 11, where lighter backgrounds made the previous icon harder to see.

The refreshed icon is designed to be clearly visible in both light and dark mode and is supported across all currently supported Windows operating systems.

Improvements to the Performance Monitoring Checks
Requires Windows 10.15.2, Agent

The new Windows RC Agent updates the default threshold settings for Performance Monitoring Checks to better reflect modern system capacity and performance expectations. The result is fewer unnecessary alerts triggered by low thresholds that no longer align with today’s hardware profiles.

As part of this update:

  • The Memory Usage check now defaults the non‑paged memory limit to 2500 MB.
  • Average committed bytes now default to 1.5 times physical RAM.

These changes help reduce alert noise while preserving meaningful visibility into system performance.

Take Control FIPS 140-3 Compliance

Take Control is confirmed to be compliant with FIPS 140‑3, supporting partners operating in environments with stricter security and compliance requirements.
