Exploit Intelligence Now Available in Vulnerability Management for N-central
As part of the ongoing Public Preview for Vulnerability Management, a major update has been released for N-central, bringing deeper threat context and smarter prioritization tools to the platform.
What’s New
CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV)
Vulnerabilities now include indicators for Known Exploits and Known Ransomware, sourced from https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog. This helps teams quickly identify and prioritize threats that are actively being exploited in the wild.
Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE) Details
Each vulnerability with a CWE identifier now links to https://cwe.mitre.org, providing insight into the underlying software weakness. This supports root cause analysis and long-term security improvements.
Server/Workstation Role Indicator
Endpoints now display their typical OS role (Server or Workstation), enabling smarter prioritization—especially for critical vulnerabilities on servers that impact core infrastructure.

Smarter Device Organization with Asset Tags in N-central
The new Asset Tagging capabilities in N-central make it easier than ever to categorize, organize, and manage devices across complex environments.
Key Benefits:
- Flexible Tagging Across All Levels
Apply custom tags to devices at the Partner, SO, Customer, and Site levels for consistent labeling and smarter device tracking. - Direct Tag Assignment in Asset View
Assign tags right from the Asset View to support filtering, reporting, and workflow automation—no extra steps required. - Centralized Tag Management
Admins can create, edit, and delete tags via the new Tag Management screen, with visibility and usage governed by feature flags, user roles, and organizational hierarchy.

Unlock Seamless ITSM Workflows with Native HaloPSA & Autotask REST API Integration in N-central
We’re excited to announce that two powerful integrations—Native HaloPSA Integration and Autotask REST API Support are now available to all, following a successful controlled rollout. These enhancements represent a significant step forward in streamlining service operations and enhancing API flexibility. By embedding HaloPSA configuration directly into N-central, we’ve eliminated the friction of managing workflows across multiple platforms, delivering the unified, intuitive experience customers have been asking for.
Key Benefits
- All-in-One Configuration: Manage everything within N-central—no more toggling between systems or relying on third-party connectors.
- Smart Device & Customer Mapping: Ensure accurate service tracking with seamless mapping between HaloPSA and N-central.
- Automated Ticketing with Two-Way Sync: Keep ticket statuses aligned in real time, reducing manual effort and improving response times.
- Secure Credential Management: Store and validate HaloPSA API credentials directly in N-central with built-in testing tools.
- Optimized API Performance: All operations leverage HaloPSA’s native API endpoints for faster, more reliable integration.
- Enhanced Time Entry Matching: Now supports API-only users for more accurate time tracking and reporting.
New Asset Metrics: Smarter Insights, Faster Resolutions
Now available in N-central, Asset Metrics brings real-time and historical CPU and Memory usage directly into the Asset View—giving technicians the visibility they need to act fast and solve smarter. With intuitive graphs and configurable timeframes, L1s can resolve more tickets independently, while L3s gain deeper context for complex investigations. It’s a powerful upgrade that boosts efficiency, reduces escalations, and enhances service quality across the board.

Expanded Syslog Audit Events: Greater Visibility, Smarter Oversight
This release supercharges N-central’s User Audit Syslog Export capabilities, giving customers deeper visibility into high-impact activities across Ecoverse features, while empowering stronger compliance, accountability, and operational insight.
What’s New:
- Broader Audit Coverage: In addition to patch management and reboot actions, audit logs now include:
- Remote Access & RBM: Session start/end, file transfers, process termination, registry edits, and shell commands.
- Scripting (coming in December via Limited Technology Preview): Execution, creation, editing, and deletion.
- Asset Tagging: Creation, editing, assignment, and deletion of tags for better device organization.
- Cloud Commander: Full visibility into user and tenant actions—connect/disconnect, user management, MFA resets, license changes, and role/group assignments.
N-central SSO Enhancements: Stronger Security, Smarter Control
This release introduces advanced SSO session management features that provide greater flexibility, tighter security, and faster response capabilities.
This release introduces smarter, more flexible SSO session management designed to help strengthen security while maintaining compatibility across identity providers.
Key Highlights:
- Token Expiry Enforcement: A new Token Validity Check ensures sessions end immediately when tokens expire—enabled by default for new Azure AD and generic IdPs, and always enforced for N-able Login.
- Polling Interval Configuration: Admins can now define how often N-central checks with the IdP to confirm token validity, with a default of 5 minutes and a range up to 1,440 minutes—giving you control over session refresh behavior.
- Emergency Session Revocation: A new “Revoke All SSO Sessions” button allows instant logout of all users tied to a specific IdP, ideal for applying sensitive security changes or responding to access concerns.

These enhancements give administrators more control, faster response options, and stronger protection—reinforcing N-central’s commitment to secure, seamless identity management.
Stay Connected: Agent Compatibility Update
To ensure uninterrupted performance and reliable monitoring, all N-central agents must be running version 2020.1 or later.
Agents running versions earlier than 2020.1 will no longer communicate with the N-central server after this release.
Action Required: Please upgrade all agents to version 2020.1 or later before applying the update to maintain monitoring and management capabilities.
Legacy API Changes
As part of our continued efforts to improve N-central’s security, we’re retiring certain legacy APIs and removing access to older internal-use-only interfaces.
Deprecated/Removed:
- Public SOAP EI API
- EDF API — Functionality now available via the EI2 API
Still Available:
- Public SOAP EI2 API
- Public REST API
Affected Features (until migrated to newer APIs):
- N-central Mobile App
- Mobile Device Management (MDM)
- External Data Feed (EDF) — New EI2-based API available
Temporary Re-enablement:
To help with the transition, we’ve added a new setting that allows administrators to temporarily re-enable deprecated APIs if needed.
You can find this option under:
Administration > Mail and Network Settings > Network Security > LEGACY APIS
Important: Re-enabling these APIs may introduce security vulnerabilities, so we recommend using this option only when absolutely necessary.
Stronger Security, Seamless Experience: MFA Now Required for N-able Login
To further protect your environment and align with global security standards, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) will be required for all N-central users logging in via N-able Login (formerly MSP SSO) starting November 2025.
This update is part of our commitment to delivering a more secure and resilient platform—without compromising user experience.
Quick Navigation: A Faster Way to Move Through N-central
Navigating N-central is now simpler and more intuitive. The new Quick Navigation search bar indexes all destinations from the left-hand navigation menus, allowing users to instantly locate pages and configuration screens—no need to manually expand panels.
What’s New
- Global Search Enhancement
Search now includes all pages and actions across modules like System, Actions, and Integrations. - Permission-Aware Results
Users only see results they have access to, based on their role and permissions. - UI-Consistent Output
Search results match what’s visible in the interface—no hidden, backend, or deprecated links.

Continued Development of CMMC-Compliant N-central for On-Premises Partners
We’re actively progressing on the development of a CMMC Level 2-compliant version of N-central, tailored specifically for on-premises partner-hosted environments.
This initiative is part of our broader commitment to support partners who manage infrastructures aligned with U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity requirements. By building toward full CMMC compliance, we aim to help partners meet stringent security standards while maintaining operational flexibility.
