What’s New in N-central 2025.3

We’ve made several key updates in N-central to help you work more securely, efficiently, and with greater control. From expanded audit logging and smarter session enforcement to improved device discovery, analytics enhancements, and continued development toward CMMC Level 2 compliance — these updates are designed to streamline operations and prepare your environment for what’s next.

User Audit Log Export – Now with more coverage

You can now track even more user actions in your audit logs. In addition to what was introduced in releases 24.6 and 25.2, the latest update adds logging for:

  • Creating, editing, and deleting Discovery Jobs
  • Creating scheduled tasks
  • Device creation via agent install

To configure Syslog export and take full advantage of these features, see: Configure Syslog Export

Session Enforcement Improvements

We’ve strengthened session security for SSO users:

  • New IDP linked? Current sessions are now automatically invalidated — users must log in with updated credentials.
  • SSO provider removed? All linked sessions are instantly invalidated and redirected to login.

These updates help ensure secure, consistent access — even as your authentication setup changes.

Smarter Discovery: New Warnings & Duplicate MAC Handling

Pre-Check Warning on Device Import

To help prevent accessibility or mapping issues, N-central now warns users when importing devices that fail core discovery pre-checks (e.g., WMI, SNMP, NetBIOS, SSH).

Better Duplicate MAC Management

A new capability on the Discovery Defaults page makes it easier to identify and exclude devices with duplicate MAC addresses — reducing false positives and improving data accuracy.

Highlights:

  • See a table of duplicate MACs by site, count, and device
  • Select entries to exclude with one click
  • Excluded MACs are filtered from future scans and Discovered Assets view
  • Settings apply across Partner, SO, and Customer levels

These improvements give admins more control, cleaner data, and fewer surprises during device discovery.

Continued Development on CMMC-Compliant Version of N-central

We’re actively developing a CMMC Level 2–compliant version of N-central for on-premises partner-hosted environments.

This ongoing work supports partners who manage systems aligned with U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity standards — helping you stay compliant and secure in regulated environments.

Laying the Groundwork for Smarter Analytics

We’re continuing to enhance N-central Analytics with behind-the-scenes improvements that boost scalability, reliability, and performance.

These updates support more accurate, actionable insights — and pave the way for future analytics-driven features to help you make better data-informed decisions across your environment.
