MAX Mail — Update on mail delays

10:30AM Pacific / 5:30PM UTC — Message processing continues to operate at normal levels.  We have confirmed a spike in inbound traffic as the primary root cause behind the delays seen over the last several days, exacerbated by intermittent slow responses from some of our databases.  We are investigating further to determine the nature and source of this traffic increase.  We are also in the process of updating our configuration and expanding our available pool of systems to provide our team with more options to respond effectively in the event of a recurrence.  We will post further updates here within the next 2-3 hours or earlier, if the situation changes.
