Coming Soon: MAX RM v5.64 – The start of a new look for the Dashboard reports

We’ve been busy working on enhancing the Dashboard reports, and are ready to share the first in a series of reporting updates. With the next Dashboard release, we’ll be giving the Device Inventory Report a bit of a makeover, so it’s nicer on the eye and easier to filter the clients and sites you want to report on.

We’ll be updating the other Dashboard reports in a similar way in the months ahead, with the Client Reports and Managed Antivirus Reports next in line. We’ll also be adding CSV export as standard to all reports, and make them “Client Group” aware, so that you can use them with the new user roles and permissions feature we’ll be launching very soon (more on that to come – stay tuned!).

In addition we have a couple of workflow updates in this release, just to make it that bit easier to add a Client or a Site, simply by right-clicking in the Client tree. Sometimes it’s the little things that count!

All the details…
Here’s a quick run-through of the reporting update:

  1. Go to the Reports dropdown menu and select the Device Inventory Report (1)reporting 1 1
  1. Notice that instead of opening up the Client/Site/Device filter dialog (2), you jump straight to the Device Inventory Report instead (3), where you can now select the desired Clients, Sites and Devices. Because these filtering options are now part of the report window, it’s much easier to change your selection and generate the reports you want (4).reporting 1 2 reporting 1 3 reporting 1 4
  1. Additionally, you can select which columns you want to show or hide, just click the Columns button on the right-hand side of the report window (5)reporting 1 5

In addition…
We have a couple of updates to the Client tree, making it a little easier to add a Client (6) and a Site (7). Small little workflow enhancements such as these all add up, as we continue our efforts to make the Dashboard as consistent and easy-to-use as possible.

Let us know what you think
We’re already working on the next set of reporting improvements, including the ability to export the Device Inventory Report in CSV format, which we’ll be adding as standard across all reports, along with enhancements to the Managed Antivirus Reports and the Client Reports, so they do a better job at showcasing the value of your services to your clients. As always, please let us know what you think and share your feedback!

And finally…
