GFI MAX Remote Management Agent 8.18 GA – MAV with VIPRE 6.2 now available for auto-update

The GFI MAX RemoteManagement Agent 8.18 as been declared GA and is now available on auto-update. It updates the Managed Antivirus feature to use VIPRE 6.2. It further brings support for more monitoring Antivirus and Backup products as listed below.

Agent v8.18.5

  • UPDATE: Update Take Control to TeamViewer v8.0.19617
  • BUGFIX: Resolve intermittent problems installing Take Control on Windows 2003 and 2008

Agent v8.18.4 Release Candidate

  • UPDATE: Add support for Backup Assist 7 to Backup check
  • BUGFIX: Ensure functionality of Backup Check with Brightstor ARCserve Backup when the event log source Brightstor ARCserve Backup is used
  • BUGFIX: Ensure partial backups of Brightstor ARCserve Backup are detected in Italian

Agent v8.18.3 Release Candidate

  • FEATURE: Include operating system installation date in asset tracking
  • BUGFIX: Ensure Exchange size check correctly subtracts whitespace reported in Event with ID 1221
  • BUGFIX: Ensure event log check always applies custom exclusions
  • BUGFIX: Ensure script check output is of reasonable length before uploading to server
  • BUGFIX: Ensure all versions of Internet Explorer are detected in asset tracking

Agent v8.18.1 Release Candidate

  • UPDATE: Update Managed Antivirus to VIPRE 6.2 (build 6.2.5528) – ensure Windows Update is not turned on

Agent v8.18.0 Release Candidate

  • UPDATE: Update Managed Antivirus to VIPRE 6.2 (build 6.2.5524) for improved performance and stability. Anti-rootkit technology has also been re-engineered to improve malware detection rates
  • UPDATE: Reduce the likelihood of Managed Antivirus being installed alongside an another Antivirus product (that is not detected by CART)

  • BUGFIX: Increase width of SNMP Check Combo Box so that full check description can be displayed
  • BUGFIX: Ensure that Program Compatibility Agent is not shown on cancelled installation
  • BUGFIX: Prevent Agent GUI from becoming unresponsive when testing connection
