We will be implementing an updated backup mechanism for the I-3 mail server, which is used by a small number of GFI MAX MailProtection customers.
This work will require a brief maintenance window this Saturday morning, March 3, at 2am local time (Pacific Standard Time). During the maintenance window, which we expect will be less than 15 minutes in duration, the mail server will not accept inbound or outbound messages, and the webmail will be offline. GFI MAX MailProtection customers will be able to access their queued messages, and will be able to send outbound messages, during the maintenance period via the GFI MAX MailProtection control panel. The maintenance work on the I-3 mail server should have no direct impact on the GFI MAX Mail services.
Separately, a brief maintenance window has been scheduled at our German datacenter, on Thursday, March 8th, 2012, between 00:00 AM and 06:00 AM local time (Central European Time). During that time period, we expect two short interruptions of network connectivity of approximately 2 minutes in duration. Depending on the timing of the network connectivity interruption relative to an individual SMTP transaction (i.e. whether the sending server fails over to the backup record), inbound or outbound messages sent during those brief interruptions may be delayed by perhaps 10 minutes or so.
We will post any significant updates regarding these maintenance windows to this site.
